Playstation 5 release date revealed by accident

Sony has posted a job offer in Japan that suggests the PlayStation 5 could be released in October 2020. In the job description, there was a direct reference to the manufacturer's next console: according to the offer, the candidate would have to work with "PlayStation 5, which will be released in October 2020."

The position was for the company's product quality and cost management sector, which was looking for someone to negotiate with suppliers for parts and payments to ensure the most competitive price for the game console without reducing quality.

It is the first time that an official company document points something in this direction. The PlayStation 5 is expected to go on sale later this year, but the consensus is that this will happen closer to Christmas, to take advantage of the holiday campaign.

The impact of COVID-19 on the launch of PS5

According to analysts, COVID-19 had a strong impact on console production, mainly because parts manufacturers had to stop production in China due to social isolation. As a result, there were rumors that Sony could even postpone the launch of the PlayStation 5 until 2021 to ensure manufacturing time.

Therefore, the candidate would be hired exactly to address this problem in the future.

So far, Sony hasn't even officially unveiled the PlayStation 5, revealing only some specs about SSD storage and sound, as well as showing off the new controller, called DualSense.

Event to celebrate the release of the PS5

The company is expected to hold an event in early June to finally reveal what its new game console will be like.

After the job posting was posted, Sony reported that there was an error in the job description. With that, the possibility of launching the PlayStation 5 in October was ruled out, but many of those who saw this announcement as an accidental revelation suspect that Sony can bring the game console to our homes much sooner than we expect.
