Canon to unveil budget mirrorless camera later this year

Although mirrorless cameras and DSLRs share some characteristics, there are significant differences between the two types. Due to significant improvements in their photographic capabilities, more and more manufacturers are opting for mirrorless cameras. Consequently, in the long term, traditional DSLR cameras will become less and less popular as other types of cameras take their place.

Canon is one of the leading companies in the photography sector, and has already updated its product portfolio in the mid-range range. The launch of the Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10 This is fantastic news for consumers who have no intention of investing large amounts in purchasing expensive high-end photography equipment. In addition to the aforementioned models, the company is developing another model that has managed to attract the attention of consumers.

Optimized for RF targets

According to the information provided by the CanonRumors portal, the next model, which will be optimized for RF lenses, will be presented before November. Like the Canon EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras, the device will feature an APS-C sensor. This is marketed at a lower price than its high-end equivalent. The camera is expected to have a compact design and dimensions, suitable for vloggers and content creators.

Canon's third camera with an RF lens could mark an intriguing shift in strategy for the company. The launch of a model with an APS-C sensor could indicate Canon's intention to develop more lenses to compete with the Nikon Z30.

The design foundations of the new model will in many ways be similar to those of the EOS M6 Mark II, which will also feature an improved detachable LSC display. This new Canon camera, whose official name has not yet been revealed, could be the long-awaited EOS R100.
