The Xbox Elite 2 Core controller is cheaper, but includes fewer accessories

Microsoft has announced the launch of the Elite Series 2 Core controller for Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X in an effort to expand the user base of its premium controllers. The gadget includes useful features such as customizable button mapping and adjustable thumbsticks. In addition, it is more affordable than the conventional version of the Elite 2 controller, despite offering fewer features.

The Elite series offers a wide variety of customization options for players looking for controls with a higher level of precision for competitive games. However, its price has always been prohibitive for many customers, being approximately $180.

For this reason, Microsoft has decided to launch a cheaper version of the gadget. In this way, the company will begin selling the Xbox Elite Series 2 Core from next September 21 at a price of $130.

The package will include the controller in white, as well as adjustable thumbsticks, a set of interchangeable triggers, button mapping through the app Xbox accessories, un USB-C connector and a rechargeable battery with autonomy for up to 40 hours of uninterrupted play.

Compared to the Core, the standard Elite Series 2 model is black and includes the same features. However, it includes a protective case, a charging station, four additional thumbsticks, and an additional digital direction pad.

The Elite 2 Core controller can be 'upgraded' to the Elite version

Users who purchase the Elite 2 Core controller and want the full experience of the standard version will have an upgrade kit available. This will be officially sold by Microsoft at a price of $60 and will contain components that are not included in the Elite 2 Core, such as the protective case and the additional directional pad.
