Access the control panel
In order to modify the date, time and number formats in Windows 8, the first thing we are going to do is access the Control Panel, a section from which we can manage some of the most important aspects of our equipment and operating system.
For all those who do not know how to proceed, all we have to do is show the windows sidebar directing the cursor to the upper or lower right corner of our screen, and then clicking on “Configuration".
We will see different options and at the top the section “Control panel” on which we will have to click so that we will directly access the indicated place.
Access the date, time and number formats section
Now we will see something similar to the previous image, and as you can see, on the right side we have a section called “Watch, language and region”. Inside we can find three options, and in our case we are going to go to the last one called “Change date, time and number formats".
As we can see, the new window that opens is quite intuitive, and consists of three tokens that we can modify.
Formats Tab
In this first tab we will see several options that we can modify. At the top by default we will find the type of default format that we want to use, which in principle will be the same in relation to the language that we show in the windows interface.
Secondly, we will have the section to modify the date and time formats and at the bottom we will see examples of how everything would look.
Also, right at the end we will see another button with the name “Additional configuration…” on which we can click and customize the format to the maximum, choosing the symbols of decimals, symbols of miles, number of decimal digits that we want to use, measurement system, native digits And a long etcetera.
Location Tab
On the other hand, we have this second tab through which we can specify our main location, that is, the country in which we tend to be most often.
This option is interesting to have well configured since in this way we will obtain some of the services and specific configurations for happiness location e language. However, by default it is activated based on the location indicated during the installation of the operating system, so it rarely has to be modified.
Administrative File
And finally we have this tab with some more configurations Advanced that allow us, for example, to configure the way in which the new user accounts, modify current user and even the regional configuration.
