Choose the country to activate Cortana
The first thing we are going to do is follow a route with which we are going to find the place where we can make the configuration we want, which will help us to both activate and deactivate Cortana, so we recommend that you save this tutorial in case you want to disconnect later.
Well, what we are going to do is access the configuration section of our equipment, which we can locate by clicking on the button Windows startup and then clicking on the button “Configuration”, which is that little gear wheel next to the system shutdown button.
Once this is done we will see an image similar to the previous one, and we only have to click on the option “Time and language” that we have marked within a red box.
This will open a new menu with various information, but we are going to look at the part on the left to click on “Region and language” which is the destination we want to reach.
Here it must appear as country “Spain”, even if we live in any Latin American country, and the reason is because currently the service is activated for Spain but not for these countries, so we basically have to trick the system and tell it to found in the country for which the tool does work.
Process to activate Cortana
Once we have indicated the country, the next thing we are going to do is proceed to activate Cortana.
Now we are going to return to our desktop again, but instead of clicking on the start button, what we are going to do is press the search button that is right next to it, that is, the one that opens a small bar for Enter the words that allow us to perform a search on the computer.
This will open a window where we will also see a gear wheel like the one we clicked on previously to access the configuration section.
When we click on this we will see a series of options, and the first one is precisely the one that allows us turn Cortana on or off.
Well, all we have to do is move the tab to activate (or deactivate in case we are following the steps to deactivate it) and from now on we can start using this interesting assistant which can save us a good amount of time and above all it is quite curious and striking.
Activate Cortana on Android
Cortana does not come preinstalled on any Android smartphone, but to solve this Microsoft has developed a free official Cortana App in the Play Store.
How to download it?
- Go to the Play Store and search for the Cortana app or click here to download it.
- Go to the menu and hold down the home button until a circle appears.
- By pressing it, select the box that indicates "Always use."
- you will have Cortana installed as a virtual assistant on your Smartphone.
